Dimetra Kubrick is a serious young woman. Living in an affordable, practical, sparsely-furnished studio apartment near public transit, she prides herself on having cut all bullshit from her life. Goal-oriented to a fault, Dimetra is essentially a tool to further her family’s legacy - something she has committed to but will not admit has been detrimental to her life in many ways. She plays her loneliness off as being focused, her frustration into “drive” or “hunger.”
Her prideful parents, living a lower-middle-class lifestyle in Rustville and hoping for a more prosperous future for their children, made sure to instill a drive for success and a commitment to exceptional results in Dimetra - which had its pros and cons. On one hand, it’s undeniable that Dimetra gets results. On the other hand, her methods can be considered...aggressive. She has a fiercely competitive relationship with her older brother (who is undeniably more successful working in finance, also in Fantasy Chicago) who was similarly affected by their ambitious household, but as for her younger brother - who rebelled from the family by being an “absolute no-good lazy goof-off” - Dimetra finds herself trying to steer him in the right direction. Neither of them like this very much. Despite all of this, they’re still close.
After working her way through college, Dimetra has her eyes on corporate success - to show up her brother and set the new standard for her family. Under immense pressure from her parents as the middle child, she pledged to put everything else aside to do whatever it takes to restore glory to her family name, which she has to believe was the right decision, despite sometimes (in moments of what she calls weakness) questioning if it was worth it after all. As part of her grand plan to success, she started working at NPC Inc. after curtly leaving two similar jobs for not meeting her demands - she considers this job hopping “trading up” since she has her sights high and sees a great opportunity for growth here (though that growth may not be at the pace her impatience demands).
Dimetra can come off as intimidating thanks to her resting witch face, conversational bluntness, and driven nature - but deep down underneath her cold exterior and past the chip on her shoulder, she has a big heart - though she guards that secret with ferocity, so I wouldn’t bring that up around her. Whether or not she’s “not here to make friends,” she’s about to >:)
